Standing at 6-foot-3, Oxford is a naturally gifted physical presence. The West Ham academy graduate has trained most of his career as a centerback, but was deployed as a defensive midfielder on Sunday. His quickness and passing skill make him a viable player in either position. Oxford passed the ball 19 times at a 94.7 percent completion rate against the Gunners on top of three tackles, two interceptions and two blocked shots. With Oxford’s level of skill and defensive ability, West Ham has options for where to play him in the long run.
