Kwasi Donsu Sweeps FA Cup Awards

The 5th FA cup awards night came off on Friday September 25, 2015 at the state Banquet Hall of the state house and the name which was on the lips of many football enthusiast Medeama fc striker Kwasi Donsu.

The former Berlin fc player won three awards on the night including the most valuable player(MVP) beating off competition from Hearts of oak’s Robin Gnange and Kumasi Asante kotoko defender Christopher Bonney and Godfred Saka of Aduana stars.

The striker also won the top scorer with six goals with a brace against Hearts of Oak and a goal against kotoko in the final game where they beat kotoko by 2-1 at the Essipong sports stadium to lift the trophy for the second time in two years.

The local black-star again beat Christopher Bonnet and midfield dynamo Michael Akuffo to win the best goal of the tournament.

He received 1,000 Ghana cedis as prize money and a weekend at the Beige village hotel and spa.

In other categories, Godfred saka of Aduana stars won the best defender award whiles Emmanuel Eli keke of Tudu Mighty Jets also won the most promising player award respectively.

Tom Strand took home the best coach award whereas Muntari Tagoe also won the Goalkeeper of the tournament award, Finalist Asante kotoko took home the fair play and the highest goal scoring club in the tournament with 16 goals.

The referee and assistant referee went to Issaka Afful and Ashitey Armah, Paul Ayamba and CW Okai also won the Match commissioners of the tournament.

Juliet Appiah was adjudged the most promising referee whereby Great Astronomers, Afienya city fc and the Die hard supporters union received special awards.
