Local stars depart Accra for Côte d’lvoire challenge today

Local-Black-StarsGhana’s local Black Stars will today, Wednesday, depart Accra for Abidjan to take on the “Elephants” of LA Côte d’ lvoire, in the final round of their Championship of African Nations qualifier scheduled to be play on Friday October 30.

The Stars beat their Ivorian counterparts by 2-1 in Kumasi in the first leg and hope to repeat the same faith in the 2nd leg to help them make it to the 4th CHAN finals after placing second in the 2013 edition.

Coach Maxwell Konadu, and his team which is made up of 18 players and officials move from their Obuasi camp to Sogakpe on Sunday in order to be accustomed with the artificial turf they will be playing on.

The game would be played at the 15,000 capacity stade Robert Champroux in Abidhan at exactly 3:00 local time.

Winner of the two legs will pick the remaining slots out of the three zone west B available which has Nigeria and Niger picking the other two slots.

The tournament is scheduled to be staged on January 16 to February 7 next year.
