Ghana’s quintet for champions league Battle today

GhanastarsKatumbiGhana’s quintet, will be part in this years final of the Orange CAF African Champions League game which involves DR Congo’s TP Mazembe and USM Algers of Algeria on Sunday.

The Congolese team that has Richard kissi Boateng, Gladson Awako, Solomon Asante and formal Asante kotoko duo of Yaw Frimpong and Daniel Nii Adjei after favourite to win this year’s cup after recording a 2-1 away win over the Algerians last weekend.

Goals from Raibford kalaba and Mbwana Samantha, placed the Congolese in a safe position to clinch the cup for the fifth time since the inception of the tournament in 1965.

TP Mazembe, who are very strong on home soil, loosing just three games in 77 games with the last time they suffered defeat being in six years ago, will get the chance to represent Africa in the FIFA Club World Cup.

With many soccer pundits writing off Algers to cause an upset in Congo due to their poor away show if winning just once away from home, head coach of TP Mazembe Patrice Carteron, think otherwise.

He said “he is eager to win the trophy, and in so doing has also map up an all attacking strategy to face the Algerians”

He again added that “They will give 100%, play as they lost the first game and also play beautiful football and score more goals to fend off the Algers from troubling them.”

Meanwhile TP Mazembe, will be without Zambian goalscorer Rainford Kalaba through suspension and defender Jean kasusula through accident.
