Black Stars leave for Comoros tonight

imagesThe Black stars of Ghana will leave tonight for the Comoros island for their Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup double header with the south – west island on Friday.

Due to the nature of the qualifier, the team, players, and technical staff and management committee members would depart with a charted flight and return the same night after the game.

The return leg will be honoured at the Baba Yara sports stadium in Kumasi the following Tuesday.

This arrangement, according to source from the FA, will enable the players and coaches get some time to prepare adequately for the second leg as Ghana seek the chance to make fourth successive appearance at the FIFA global soccer festival.

Currently based at the Best Western premier hotel in Accra, the will enplane at exactly 8:00 pm and arrive in the early hours of the following day in Comoros and hold a training session.

Grant’s team has been boosted with the return of skipper Asamoah Gyan, and his deputy Andre Ayew, who all pulled out of the friendly game against Canada through injuries.

Grant, will also have his trusted faithfuls including Mubarak Wakasu, Rabiu Mohammed, Jonathan Mensah, Edwin Gyimah, Baba Rahman, David Accam who were all present on Monday when they opened their training camp at the Accra sports stadium.
