The main event which is scheduled to be held at the Coconut Grove hotel on December 12, 2015 will be use to reward players and individuals who excelled in last seasons Division One League.
The awards, which is the first of it kind in the Ghana’s second tier league will reward individuals in 11 different categories namely, Most valuable player, Most promising player, Goal King award, Best Defender, Best Goalkeeper, Best Referee, Best Assistant Referee, Match commissioner of the season, Fair play team of the season, Special Awards to a deserving institution to be revealed later and honorary awards to the late Nana Ntiri Yirenkyi and professor Mawusi Dake.
Speaking. at the launch Mr. Acheampong Owoahene, chairman of the Division One League stated that, the awards will be use to reward individuals who worked earnest in the ended league season.
Mr Issah Adam, Financial and Administration manager for GN Bank commended the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for good work done describing the Division One League as “The best organized Division one league in history”.
And assured the FA of the Bank will continue to support the league in the coming years.
GFA Executive Committee member Mr.Kweku Ayiah, who was representing the GFA president at the event reiterated how GN Bank has help cushion the Division One League clubs in the new structure of the league.
The Division One League Board will be announcing the nominees for the awards within next week.
