Ghana's Thomas Partey nominated for African Player of the year

Ghana Black Stars midfielder Thomas Partey has been nominated for the 2018 African Player of the year award.

Thomas Partey nominated among 33 other players for this year’s award which is scheduled to take place on January 8, 2019 in Dakar, Senegal.

Partey, has been in top form for Diego Simeone’s side since breaking into the Atletico Madrid first team last season.

The Black Stars player was part of the team which defeated Olympique Marseille 3-0 to lift the 2018 UEFA Europa league.

The Ghanaian will have to beat the likes of Egypt’s Mohammed Salah, Senegal duo of Sadio Mane and Kalidou Koulibaly and among other notable stars to be able to win this accolade.

The Awards Gala is organized honour footballers and officials who distinguished themselves during the year under review, will be held on Tuesday, 8 January 2019 in Dakar, Senegal.
