A visit by the GNA Sports, to check on the progress of renovation, saw workers scrapping off, the rusty portions of the metals behind the score board for painting.
“We are still working on the rusty metals using sand with the help of a machine providing a force of air, after which painting would be done,’’ one of the workers said.
Currently, the pitch has been trimmed and marked, treated and watered as well, in other to reserve its green nature and resist sun burn
The $12.5 million renovations, saw a total re-grassing of the pitch by the green grass technology, painting and replacement of seats and mounting of the score board alongside refinishing the VIP section.
The stadium is still in use as far as series of activities are concerned, it’s still unclear when works is supposed to end.
The stadium was part of the venues which hosted teams for last year’s Women Africa Cup.
