Abdul Fatawu scores twice as Kotoko ends Ashantigold unbeaten run

Kumasi Asante Kotoko continued their winning run with a victory over Ashantigold at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Wednesday afternoon.

Abdul Fatawu Shafiu lead his side to overcome a difficult first half to beat their regional rivals by 2-0 in the ongoing Normalisation Special Competition.

Goals from forward Abdul Fatawu Shafiu was enough to give the Porcupine Warriors the needed win at their own backyard.

The win now leaves the Porcupine Warriors at the top of the Zone A league log with 9 points from four games.

Elsewhere in the competition, Hearts of Oak returned to winning ways following a 2-1 victory over Dwarfs at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Berekum Chelsea lost 0-1 to Aduana Stars in Berekum whiles Medeama won by 3-2 in Tarkwa over Bechem United.

In Sogakope, WAFA beat Karela United by 2-1 with Liberty Professionals holding Elmina Sharks to a barren draw at the Nduom Sports Stadium.

The game between Inter Allies and Dreams FC would be played on Thursday afternoon.
