Skipper Thomas Abbey and striker Kwame Kizito scored two give Hearts of oak a 2 – 0 victory over Elmina Sharks in the week 19 GPL game played at the Nduom Sports Stadium in Elmina.
Abbey opened the score for the Phobians in the 13th minutes to put his side in the lead before Kizito added the second of the day to end the first half 2 – 0 in favor of the away side.
Back from recess, Sharks came into the game very strong with the aim of getting a goal but the resolute defense of Accra Hearts of Oak stood on their grounds to prevent the from scoring.
Elmina Sharks continued to search for a goal to be able to come back into the game but most of their efforts went off target.
In a bid to get more goals and also prevent Sharks from getting on the score sheet, Coach Frank Nuttal made changes to the starting team with the introduction of striker Cosmos Dauda and Anthony Nimo but his presence could not bring any change as the score line remained the same.
The win means Hearts will now has 33 points from 19 games and are still third on the league table.
