Accra curse continues for Kotoko with another defeat in the capital

Abdul Hallick Hudu’s 30th minute goal for Inter Allies at the El Wak Stadium on Wednesday dented as Coach Steve Pollack suffer his first defeat since taking over Asante Kotoko.

The Porcupine Warriors stormed the El Wak Sports stadium on Wednesday with hopes of continuing their good run under the English coach.

However, their hopes were dashed after they failed to equalized an Abdul Hallick Hudu’s  goal after he had scored for the Eleven is to One’s in the first half of the game.

The young forward received the ball from the right the of attack before brilliantly firing beyond the reach of goalkeeper Felix Annan.

Referee Prince Amoah sent off Kotoko’s Evans Quao and Isaac Osae of Inter Allies after bust up between the two players.

Back from recess the Reds made some changes into the game with introduction of Micheal Akuffo, Baba Mahama and Ollenu Ashitey all in search of the equalizer.

But Inter Allies remained resolute in defense to end the game as victors over the Fabulous lads.

This results means Kotoko are yet to win a game in Accra after two defeats against Hearts and Great Olympics in the first round.

Elsewhere in the league, their rivals reclaimed their third position with a 2 – 0 win over Berekum Chelsea at the Acra Sports Stadium.

The Phobians defeated the Blues to return to winning ways after going three games without a win thanks to goals from skipper Thomas Abbey.

In Bolga, Ashantigold continued their fine form with a 2 – 0 win over Bolga All Stars, league leaders WAFA also beat Bechem United 2 -0 to stretch their lead at the top.

In Dansoman, Liberty Professionals lost at home to Elmina Sharks by a lone goal whiles Wa All Stars beat Aduana Stars 3 – 1 in Wa with Medeama also beating Tema Youth by 1- 0 in Tarkwa. The game between Ebusua Dwarfs and Greta Olympics ended in barren draw at the Cape Coast stadium.
