Former Board member of Kumasi based Asante Kotoko Ali Maradona has said that player politics in the team is the cause of the team’s problems.
The former deputy operations Manager of the Reds in an interview with Asempa FM revealed that player politics is playing a huge impact in the downward trend of the club.
“One thing i have identified is that there is too much player politics in the team, The players know that if there is a problem, it is the coaches or management that will face the sack” he said.
“Weather the players are good or bad they are the same players who will play so we have to wait till the new transfer window to identify the kind of reinforcement we need”. he added
Asante Kotoko with the kind of recruitment before the beginning of the season has failed to leave up to expectation in the this year’s league competition.
The team’s performance has seen them sack their head coach Zdradvsko Logarusic two months into his two year contract.
