Ghana skipper Asamoah Gyan celebrated his 5o goal mark for the Black Stars in their 5-0 win over Ethiopia in Kumasi this evening.
Asamoah Gyan before the game against the 1963 AFCON winners had scored 49 goals and needed just a goal to reach 50.
Gyan eventually had the goal he has been looking for when he got his name on the score sheet for Ghana after heading home a Thomas Agyapong’s cross from the left side of the attack.
The former Sunderland striker made his international debut at the age of 18 against Somalia where he scored in the 90th minute.
He has since scored many important goals for the Black Stars including 68 seconds goal against Czech Republic in the 2006 World Cup in Germany.
