Kumasi Asante Kotoko has parted ways with head coach Zdravsko Logarusic.
The contract of the Croatian was terminated after an emergency Management meeting on Sunday at the club secretariat in Kumasi.
The meeting, which was held just after Kotoko’s barren game with Ebusua Dwarfs on match day 11 of the 2016/17 Premier League, was primarily to discuss the coach’s future.
“Zdravko’s contract has been terminated. He has accepted the official notification given to him. Assistant coach, Godwin Ablordey will train with the team until further notice” Head of Communications, Obed Acheampong told the club’s website in a brief interview on Sunday night.
Zdravko, at the meeting, acknowledged the need for change in the technical direction of the club and therefore accepted the decision to cut ties with him.
The Croatian coach joined Kotoko on January 10, 2017 and led the Porcupines in 11 league matches in which he won five, drew four and lost two. His tactics came under strong scrutiny and criticisms from fans – many of who questioned his 3-5-2 formation.
