Ghana Black Stars coach Avram Grant has thrown his weight behind under fire Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kwesi Nyantakyi.
The Isreali trainer Avram Grant wants Nyantakyi to maintain his position and has therefore called on the Ghanaian Government to give him the maximum support to be able to do more for Ghana football.
There have been calls for the CAF Executive Committee Member to leave his position after Ghana failed to win the AFCON tournament in Gabon.
But the former Chelsea manager want Mr. Nyantakyi maintained as GFA President so he can continue his good work.
“Kwesi Nyantakyi is a great guy and needs to keep his job, I think the new Government needs to give him support to help him develop football in Ghana.” Avram told Bola Ray on Star FM.
“He has done a lot for the country and I think he needs to be maintained” he added.
Kwesi Nyantakyi has held the position for the past 12 years making him the longest serving FA president in the country.
He has led the country to three World Cups and Six successive Nations Cup semi-final since 2008.
