Kumasi Asante Kotoko players have expressed their deepest appreciation to God for saving their lives in last Wednesday’s motor accident in Nkawkaw. In an interview with the club's website, the players led by goalkeeper Isaac Amoako thanked God for saving them from the tragic accident. “It was a dangerous incident and the manner in which we were saved was miraculous.We’re most grateful to God. It was clear His grace and mercy were upon us on that day. We also thank our medics and other volunteers who came around to help. But for their intervention and effort, maybe the accident could’ve claimed more lives” said Amoako. Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has excluded three players from his squad ahead of the trip to Kumasi for Sunday's 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Ethiopia. The Black Stars have spent the past four days in non-residential training in Accra and will travel to Kumasi on Monday to continue with preparations for the game. Coach Appiah named a 30-man squad for the qualifier against Ethiopia and the friendlies with Mexico and the United States. Ghana Premier League side Medeama SC have parted ways with striker Bennett Ofori on mutual grounds. The winger joined the Tarkwa based side after leaving Kumasi Asante Kotoko at the beginning of the current season on a two-year deal. Bennett Ofori made eight Premier league appearance for the Mauve and Yellows starting five and coming on as a substitute on three occasions. "We mutually parted ways with winger Bennett Ofori this morning. He becomes the 6th player to leave the club. We wish him well," The club wrote on their Twitter handle. The former Berekum Chelsea man will now look elsewhere after leaving Medeama.

Ghana finally unveiled Coach James Kwesi Appiah as the Black Stars Head Coach today at the Ghana Football Association (GFA) secretariat in Accra. Appiah, who has been contracted for a two-year period, which is renewable, is also assigned to head the Local Black stars team. At the unveiling ceremony, the Vice President of the GFA George Afriyie confirmed that, former Ghanaian international footballer Ibrahim Tanko would be the first assistant coach, whilst Maxwell Konadu, who has been the assistant of the team since 2012 has been demoted to second assistant coach.
