Crippled Kotoko holds Hearts to a draw in Kumasi

Kumasi Asante Kotoko returned to the field with a 1-1 draw against Accra Hearts of Oak in the week 23 outstanding league played on Sunday in Kumasi.

The game began with an end to end display from both sides with most of the game centered in the middle of the pitch.

Saddick Adams got the first shot in the game but his effort was save by goalkeeper Ben Mensah who was in post for the away side.

A simple pass to set up Thomas Abbey in the Asante Kotoko box could have opened the score but Patrick Razak rather decided to go for the shot which was saved by goalkeeper Felix Annan.

Back from recess, The Reds came back stronger by putting pressure on the Phobians in a bid to register the first goal of the game.

The Porcupines contnued to pile pressure on the Accra based side but failed to put the ball at the back of the net with most of their opportunities resulting in a corner.

Midfielder Winful Cobbina put up a brilliant display to set up Fatau Mohamed whose cross was met by striker Kwame Kizito who fired pass Felix Annan.

The game looks to be going the way of Hearts but Saddick Adams converted a penalty to draw parity for for the Porcupine Warriors after a ball  the hands of a Hearts of Oak player in the box.

Kotoko has now moved to the 4th position with 36 points four points adrift Hearts who occupies the third position on the league log.

The Porcupines next game will be in Sogakope where they take on WAFA.
