Black Stars B coach, Maxwell Konadu, says that the team’s 3-1 loss to Visser Academy on Monday at the Accra Sports Stadium should awaken them to prepare better for their CHAN 2018 qualifier against Burkina Faso on Sunday.
Reginald Thompson and Godfred Odametey scored for Visser, which is owned by former Great Olympics and Black Stars players, Godwin Attram, while AshGold’s Shafiu Mumuni got the goal for the Black Stars B team.
After the match, Maxwell Konadu, said that the match had given the team a lot more to think about in relation to the Burkina Faso match.
“The result serves as a wake up call for us even though we did not start with the best players that we have in the team. We had to give opportunities to the other players to show us what they have.
We now have a clearer idea of who is making the trip and it is good for us.”
Players such as Thomas Abbey, Winnful Cobbinah and Felix Annan watched the match from the stands after their exertions in the Super 2 clash between Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak over the weekend and thus, did not feature.
The team is expected to fly out to Burkina Faso on Wednesday for the match on Sunday.
