Elmina Sharks shocked Ashantigold after beating them 2 – 1 in the Ghana Premier League week 23 fixture played in Obuasi on Sunday.

Sharks got the lead through a spot kick which was converted neatly by Eric Osei before Benjamin Osei added the second of the day to end the first half in their favor before Prince Owusu pulling one back for the Miners in the second half.

The Tema battle between Tema Youths and Inter Allies ended 3 -1 in favour Tema Youth at the Tema Sports Stadium. Tema Youth goals came from Francis Adjetey, James Akaminko and Joseph Paintsil with Abdul Nasiru Hamza getting a consolation for Inter Allies.

Goals from Bright Adjei gave Aduana Stars the needed win as they drew level with WAFA at the top of the league table after a 2-0 win over Dwarfs in Dormaa.

Coach Tom Strand could not stop his former team as Medeama Sporting Club did a number on their former beat Great Olympics by 3-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium. Justice Blay, Latif Salifu and Bismark Oppong were the goal scorers.


Defending league champions, Wa All Stars, beat Liberty Professionals 2-1 in Wa. David Abagna put All Stars 1-0 but Emmanuel Sarpong leveled for Liberty late in the game. It looked like ending 1-1 until Matthew Kevin Ando scored for Wa All Stars.

Stephen Sarfo scored two goals to help Berekum Chelsea beat WAFA 2 – 1 at the Golden City Park as WAFA drop points in their title challenge.

On Saturday, Ahmed Toure scored a hat trick whiles Maxwell Frimpong score one as the Hunter’s beat Bolga All Stars 4 – 0 at the Fosu Gyeabour Park.


The Super Clash between Kotoko and Hearts has been postponed indefinitely by the Premier League Board.
