Kumasi Asante Kotoko has been dealt a huge blow with the injury of defender Evans Quao.
Evans Quao will be out of action for six weeks after sustaining an injury on his left – foot during a friendly match at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
The versatile defender has been in top form for Coach Zdravko Logarusic’s in their pre-season game and was expected to be play a big part in the league but will now have to wait till after six weeks.
Evans Quao opened the scores with a penalty when Kotoko beat Natcoster FC by 2-0 in Saturday’s friendly before leaving the game prematurely after he picked an injury in the course of the game.
Head of Kotoko’s Medical Team, Dr. Michael Leat detected a closed fracture of the base of the fifth metatarsal after he conducted a thorough physical and radio-logical examinations on the player after the game.
The Porcupine Warriors will begin their league campaign on Sunday against Liberty Professionals at the Baba Yara Stadium.
