Ghana Black Starlets are eying a win over Cameroon in their 2017 Africa U17 Championship opener in Gabon.
Ghana lock horns with their Cameroonian counterparts at the Stade de Port Gentil on Sunday as they seek to lift the trophy which has eluded the country for almost two decades now.
The team defeated Gabonese side FC 105 by 3 – 0 in a friendly game and are bent on repeating another good performance when they meet the Central African side.
Coach Paa Kwesi Fabin and his side has revealed their readiness ahead of the game with captain of the firing a serious warning to their opponents.
Eyiah has vowed to lead the team to victory when the face off with a side that got them banned from the last edition of the competition.
“The Coaches have spoken to us and we are prepared ourselves, we are going to do everything possible to win against Cameroon,” he said.
“We will do all we can to make sure we win our first game against Cameroon. We have only one objective and that is to go all the way and win the trophy.
“With that we have to start by beating Cameroon in our first game and we are going to make sure we do that.”
The Black Starlets are considered one of the favorites to win this year’s Africa U17 Championship following their exploits in the competition.
