Gyan out, Jordan leads team for DR Congo game

Ghana will be without skipper Asamoah Gyan in today’s AFCON quarter – final game against DR Congo in Oyem.

The experience striker could not recover on time from the injury he picked up against Egypt on Wednesday.

This means young striker Jordan Ayew has been appointed to lead the Ghanaian attack in this afternoon’s game.

The Aston Villa forward will receive support from his senior brother Andre Ayew, Christian Atsu and Thomas Partey who have been shifted up front. 

The Black Stars goes into this game with a 4-2-3-1 formation with Afriyie Acquah and Mubarak Wakaso protecting the back four.

Ghana finished behind Egypt with six points in Group D.
