Lower division clubs brace for FA Cup thrills

The on-going Ghana Premier League takes a break this weekend for the preliminary round matches of the 2016/2017 MTN FA Cup matches to be honored.

Aduana Stars and Asante Kotoko are joint leaders with 17 points apiece after eight rounds of matches.

According to the Premier League Board (PLB), Premier League action would return with week nine matches on the weekend of April 1 and 2.

Meanwhile teams from the lower divisions like division two two and one would be in action over the weekend for honours in the MTN FA Cup competition.

Beginning from tomorrow, teams from the lower-tier leagues would battle it out to secure a place in the second round of the preliminary stage after which they would be joined by the premier league clubs.

The participating teams have been zoned according to their various regions for the preliminary round of the competition with Division One League.
