Micheal Osei records first win as Liberty coach

Liberty Professional

Coach Micheal Osei recorded his first victory since taking over as Liberty Professionals coach as his side defeated Great Olympics by 1 – 0 at the Accra Sports Stadium in the week 19 of the GPL.

Micheal Ampofo’s 41st minutes goal was just enough to hand the Dansoman based side as they chase their first away win of the season.

Great Olympics came into the second half with enough energy all in search for the equalizer but Liberty Professionals defenders stood on their grounds firmly to prevent the “Agosu” boys from causing any havoc.

Liberty before this game had played three successive drawn games against Hearts, WAFA and Tema Youth and were desperately looking for a win to move up on the log.

In other venues, AShantigold defeated Inter Allies by 3 – 0 to move out of the relegation Zone. Accra Hearts of Oak added to the woes of Elmina Sharks with a 2 –  0 victory at the Nduom stadium.

Bechem United drew 1-1 with Medeama in Bechem with the game between Berekum Chelsea and Ebusua Dwarfs ending in a 1-1 draw.

The game between Tema Youth and Aduana Stars at the Tema Stadium ended 1- 0 in favor of Tema Youth with Bolga All Stars holding WAFA to a barren draw game in Bolga.

On Saturday, Kotoko defeated Wa All Stars by 2 – 1 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium to move to the third position on the league table.
