Paul Acquah’s lone goal was enough for Hearts to beat Ashgold in the Week 11 of the Ghana Premier league game played on Saturday Afternoon at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi.
The game started with Both sides started on a good account as they displayed a beautiful performance filled with brilliant passes and dangerous incursions into the half of each other.
Ashgold came close to scoring on several times but forward Hans Kwoffie was unlucky on the day.
Hearts of Oak settled and got into the game where they created some goal scoring opportunities but goalkeeper Gearge Apronti pulled out some good saves to prevent the Phobians from hitting the back of the net.
Shafiu Mumuni was again unlucky when his effort hit the woodwork ending the first half on a barren draw.
The Second half began with yet another enterprising play from both ends from the likes of Emmanuel Osei Baffoe for Ashgold and Richard Akrofi for Hearts.
The deadlock was broken when Paul Acquah’s capitalized on goalkeeper Gearge Apronti’s mistake to put Hearts in the lead which eventually turn out to be the winner of the game.
This results has shoot Hearts of Oak to the fourth position on the league table with 18 points whiles AshGold remains in the bottom.
