Kumasi Asante Kotoko has denied President Cup boycott rumors circulating in the media that they will not honor thei game against Hearts of Oak at the Baba Yara Stadium on July 2.
Contrary to reports those reports, the Management has confirmed that the Porcupine Warriors will face their rivals in Kumasi on the said date.
The club has rubbished those rumors and has described it as false and advised their fans to ignore those reports circulating in some session of the media.
A letter by the club which was signed by the club’s Administrative Manager Rose Padmore Yeboah reads
“Asante Kotoko appreciates our club being chosen to participates in the President’s Cup on 2nd July, 2017. Pending all details and final agreement between Ghalca and Asante Kotoko SC, the club avails itself to participate in the said match in honor of the President and the people of Ghana”.
Hearts of Oak has beaten the Porcupine Warriors twice this season in the league and the Ghana @50 game both at the Accra Sports stadium and will be eyeing a third win over their arch rivals.
But Kotoko will also want to use this opportunity to redeemed themselves by winning the game on the day.
