The Black Starlets of Ghana are expected to jet out of Ghana to Abu Dhabi on Wednesday to prepare for the impending U-17 India World Cup tournament scheduled for India. Twenty Four players are expected to make the trip to the UAE from the current 28 players in camp. The team while on the tour will then be pruned down to 21 by coach Paa Kwesi Fabin after excessive assessment on the players. The young Ghanaians will engage in series of friendlies in the United Arab Emirates as they prepare for the biggest Youth football festival. Ghana were earlier scheduled for a tour in an European country but after a meeting with the Ministry had to settle for Abu Dhabi.

The Black Starlets of Ghana will head to Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates for their Pre-World Cup camping in India. The team decided on Abu Dhabi (UAE) after an agreement between the management team of the Starlets and the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The young Ghanaian national team were earlier booked to have their training tour in Denmark, where they were expected to engage in series of friendly matches. But will now have to move to the Oil-Rich country for all their necessary preparations for the tournament. Ghana have been housed with host country India, USA, and Colombia in Group A. The team is expected to depart Ghana for the UAE next week where they will continue their preparation for the World Cup. The 2017 FIFA U17 World Cup kicks off on October 6-26....

Defending champions Ivory Coast have been given extra financial boost for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations finals. The Ivorian government has approved a near €6 million euros (£5.1m) budget for the team's campaign in Gabon. It is an increase of €600,000 euros (£507,000) from the last finals in Equatorial Guinea two years ago. Ivory Coast kick off their tournament against Togo on 16 January, before facing DR Congo and Morocco in the group stage. The two-time champions opened a training camp in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on Monday where they will face Sweden in a friendly on 8 January and will complete their warm-up with a game against Uganda, another Nations Cup-bound side, three days later.
