London - Liverpool will be without midfielder Adam Lallana for "a couple of months" due to a thigh injury, the Premier League club announced on Friday. The England international, 29, sustained the injury during Liverpool's friendly match against Atletico Madrid in Munich on Wednesday. "This is certainly not news we would have wanted," manager Jurgen Klopp told the Liverpool website. "Unfortunately, the damage is such that it will likely mean Adam is out for a couple of months not weeks, so I think we can pretty much rule him out of August and September. Beyond that we will monitor and wait and see. Ghana international midfielder Bernard Mensah has joined Turkish side Kasimpasa on a season long loan from Spanish side Athletico Madrid. Mensah is yet to make an appearance for the Spanish Side since joining them in 2015 on a six-year-deal. This would be the third time he is sent on loan after playing last season with Portuguese side Vitoria Guimaraes. "It's my first time of playing outside Portugal and Spain, but I'm ready," Mensah told the Turkish club's website. Kasimpasa have the option to sign Mensah on a permanent deal when his loan expires next year. He also previously spent time on loan at Spanish La Liga side Getafe in the 2015/16 campaign. Ghanaian players celebrate colleague Thomas Partey as he turns a year older. The Athletico Madrid midfielder turns 24 today (Tuesday) and his colleagues and team has congratulated him. Partey was part of Ghana's team which walloped Ethiopia 5-0 in their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Sunday. The former Tema Youth star made his Ghana debut on June 5, 2016 before going ahead to be part of the team after an impressing performance in the 2017 African Cup of Nations. Former Ghana youth striker Saddick Adams has began training with Asante kotoko after sealing a deal with the Porcupine Warriors. The Former Athletico Madrid player on Wednesday afternoon started training at the club's Adako Jachie training grounds where he met with his new teammates. The former Berekum Chelsea marksman is expected to bring sharpness to the team’s attack as they they seek to improve the fortunes of the club in the Ghana Premier League. Saddick could play his first game for the Reds this weekend when they clash with Accra Great Olympics at the Baba Yara Sports stadium in the week 17 of the Ghana league.

Ghanaian player Thomas Partey was on the score sheet for Athletico Madrid as they wallop Las Palmas in their La Liga game played on Saturday. The Ghanaian midfielder scored one for his side as they beat their opponents by 5 - 0 at the at Estadio de Gran Canaria. The 23-year-old added his name on the scorers of the day five minutes on the pitch after Kevin Gameiro, Saul Niguez and Fernando Torres had scored earlier for Athletico. This is Partey's first goal of the season after he miss the opportunity to score his first goal with a penalty miss some weeks back. In that same game, his countryman Kevin-Prince Boateng was sent off after accumulating two yellow cards.

Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey has extended his stay with Athletico Madrid by signing a long- term contract with the Spanish giants to 2022. "I am very happy and want to keep improving at Atletico," Partey told the club's website. The 23-year-old joined Atletico in 2011 and made his breakthrough into the first team last season after loan spells at Mallorca and Almeria. He has scored three goals in 31 appearances for Los Rojiblancos. Partey was a member of the Ghana side that reached the semi-finals of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.

Real Madrid have had their ban on signing players reduced to one transfer window following an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas). The Spanish side had originally been barred from signing players for two windows by world governing body Fifa. They remain banned from registering new players this January but will now be able to make signings next summer. The club have also had their fine reduced from 360,000 Swiss francs (£282,000) to Sfr 240,000 (£188,000).
