Striker Raphael Dwamena will miss Ghana's 2018 World Cup double header game against Congo after he was excused by coach Kwesi Appiah. The FC Zurich forward failed to secure a move to English Premiership side Brighton and Holve Albion due to a failed medical test. But after passing a new test conducted by his club, the player has now been advice to stay back for further assessment which means he will miss the Black Stars game. Dwamena was scheduled to join his colleagues on Wednesday but has now pull out after a request from his club. The former Red Bull Salzburg striker has scored five (5) goals and assisted four times in all competitions for FC Zurich after six games and has two goals for Ghana.
Brighton and Hove Albion’s aim of signing Ghanaian striker Raphael Dwamena has been dashed after FC Zurich rejected their offer Sky Sports report. The English Premier League newbies are believed to be interested in the Ghana international who has been in top form for both club and country. The English side are said to be interested in the striker who scored 12 goals in 18 appearance for Zurich after joining from Red Bull Salzburg. It is understood Brighton representatives met with the player on Wednesday night in a restaurant in Belgium to finalize the transfer, believed to be worth an initial £13.5m, potentially rising to £16m. His current contract with the Zurich-based club will ran out in summer 2020.
