Striker Raphael Dwamena will miss Ghana's 2018 World Cup double header game against Congo after he was excused by coach Kwesi Appiah. The FC Zurich forward failed to secure a move to English Premiership side Brighton and Holve Albion due to a failed medical test. But after passing a new test conducted by his club, the player has now been advice to stay back for further assessment which means he will miss the Black Stars game. Dwamena was scheduled to join his colleagues on Wednesday but has now pull out after a request from his club. The former Red Bull Salzburg striker has scored five (5) goals and assisted four times in all competitions for FC Zurich after six games and has two goals for Ghana.

Ghana striker Raphael Dwamena will travel to the UK within the next 48 hours to undergo a medical ahead of his move to English Premier League side Brighton. Brighton have agreed terms of the move with his Swiss club FC Zurich to sign the Ghana international  for an undisclosed fee. The Seagulls  had an initial £8m bid for Dwamena rejected with Ghanasoccernet.com revealing that FC Zurich wanted 15m euros (£13.7m). The 21-year-old has also agreed personal terms, with the move subject to a work permit and international clearance. Dwamena will travel to the UK for the medical within the next two days before the deal is sealed. Brighton and Hove Albion’s aim of signing Ghanaian striker Raphael Dwamena has been dashed after FC Zurich rejected their offer Sky Sports report. The English Premier League newbies are believed to be interested in the Ghana international who has been in top form for both club and country. The English side are said to be interested in the striker who scored 12 goals in 18 appearance for Zurich after joining from Red Bull Salzburg.   It is understood Brighton representatives met with the player on Wednesday night in a restaurant in Belgium to finalize the transfer, believed to be worth an initial £13.5m, potentially rising to £16m. His current contract with the Zurich-based club will ran out in summer 2020.

Ghanaian forward Raphael Dwamena scored a hat trick as FC Zurich beat Goztepe S.K in their pre-season friendly. Dwamena scored three goals as his side put six past Turkish side Göztepe S.K at the Bolu Atatürk Stadium. The young chap two in the first half before completing his hat - trick in the dying embers of the game to give Zurich the needed win. Axel N'Gando got a consolation goal for the Turkish side with the match ending 6 -1 in favour of the Swiss side. Dwamena has been outstanding for the Swiss top-flight side since joining them last season and continue to shine for them.

Ghana Black Stars striker Raphael Dwamena has crowned the 2016/17 best footballer of the year by ’Ballers in God’ group. The player was awarded the accolade after his sterling performance for FC Zurich which saw them gain promotion into the Swiss top flight. The award which is initiated by a group of Christian footballers called ‘Ballers in God’ also has includes some of the big players across the world. Dwamena found the back of the net 12 times for FC Zurich and also helped his side win the league and also gain promotion for next season's Switzerland league. The 21 -year-old scored twice on his national team debut when Ghana thrashed Ethiopia by 5 - 0 in an African Cup qualification game played in Kumasi. Below are pictures the player with his award

Rafael Dwamena completes move to FC Zurich

Ghanian youngster Rafael Dwamena has completed a move to join swiss  top flight side FC Zurich the club have confirmed.  He joins from Austrian second-tier side SC Austria Lustenau on three-year deal. The 21-year-old had a sterling performance for Lustenau in the Austrian second tier league where he scored 25 goals. His performance earned him a place in the Black Stars 29 man provisional squad for the AFCON but failed to make the final 23 man team.
