English Premier League side West ham United are reported to be having talks with FC Lorient to sign their Ghanaian striker Abdul Majeed Waris. According to Sky Sports report, the player is in London for talks as the Hammers try to sign him before the close of the window on Thursday. The English side are looking for a replacement for their Senegalese forward Diafra Sakho who has joined Rennes and believe the player is the right person to replace him. Waris has in the past been link with a move to the Premiership with Burnley his named as his destination. The former Right to Dream Academy player has been with Lorient for the past two years.

Tributes have been paid to former Gabon international Moise Brou Apanga who died on Wednesday from a suspected heart attack. The 35-year-old collapsed during a training session with his Gabonese club FC 105 Libreville. He played for the Panthers at the Africa Cup of Nations in 2010 and 2012. "We played together, we played against each other but it was always a pleasure to play alongside you," Gabon captain Pierre - Emerick Aubameyang posted. "Rest in peace my brother." Former France international, Willy Sagnol will face the six-member panel tasked to search for a new coach for the Black Stars today. Sagnol made the shortlist of coaches to avail themselves to be interviewed by the GFA. The 40-year old, who played as a right back in his days, was scheduled to arrive in the country yesterday ahead of the interview today. Sagnol is currently unattached, having coached Ligue One side, Bordeaux from 2014-2016. Sagnol was part of the French team that won silver at the 2006 World Cup in Germany and was also a team mate of Samuel Kuffour as their Bayern Munich team won the UEFA Champions League in 2001.-
21-year-old Ghanaian Alhassan Wakaso's dream of making his debut for new club FC Lorient was delayed after he was left in the bench for the club's 3-1 over lingam. The Ghanaian midfielder was expected to come on in the second half after being named in the match day squad but failed. Wakaso did not play a part in their win on Saturday but is expected to get his chance in their next game.
