The locally based Ghanaian national side arrived in the country on Sunday morning after their 2-2 stalemate with the Burkinabe side. Black Stars will host Burkina Faso at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in the Ashanti Regional capital of Kumasi on Sunday August 20, 2017a for the return leg. Coach Maxwell Konadu's side will be hoping for a win on the day as they seek to make it to the competition in Kenya next year January.
Each Black Stars B player will receive an amount of $1,500 as qualification bonus if the team is able to advance past Burkina Faso into the 2018 CHAN tournament. According to SportsObama.com sources, the Ministry of Youtjh and Sports concluded on the amount after consultations with Manage,ment Committee of the team. The Black Stars ‘B’ will take on their Burkinabe counterparts in the first leg tie of their CHAN qualifying match on Saturday August 12 before hosting their opponents at the Kumasi Stadium next weekend. The Black Stars ‘B’ who are two time finalists are hoping to qualify to the 2018 CHAN which will be staged in Kenya in January after failing to qualify for the last edition in Rwanda. Ghana Black Stars b side played out a 1 - 1 draw game with Benin in an international friendly game played on Thursday afternoon. Coach Kwesi Appiah failed to record his first win since returning to the national team in a game played at the Accra Sports Stadium. Benin got the opener 19 minutes into the game but the Stars fought back to get the equalizer through a spot kick after Hearts of Oak's Patrick Razak was fouled in the box which was converted by Awal Mohammed of Kotoko. The Ghanaians looked more likely to score but saw most of their chances go waste leaving the game to end on a draw. Ghana expected to play north African side Egypt in Cairo in an international friendly next month.
