The Black Starlets of Ghana are expected to jet out of Ghana to Abu Dhabi on Wednesday to prepare for the impending U-17 India World Cup tournament scheduled for India. Twenty Four players are expected to make the trip to the UAE from the current 28 players in camp. The team while on the tour will then be pruned down to 21 by coach Paa Kwesi Fabin after excessive assessment on the players. The young Ghanaians will engage in series of friendlies in the United Arab Emirates as they prepare for the biggest Youth football festival. Ghana were earlier scheduled for a tour in an European country but after a meeting with the Ministry had to settle for Abu Dhabi.
The Ghana delegation made up of the Chairman of Black Starlets Management Committee, Lawyer Kweku Ayiah and Head coach, Paa Kwasi Fabin has left Accra for India to attend the official draw for the FIFA U-17 World Cup on Friday. The delegates are expected to witness the draw and also take part of accommodation inspection, stadium facilities and other necessary arrangements. They will also take part in a workshop for delegates which will brief them about the impending competition which begins in October this year. The Black Starlets made a the World Cup list following a second place finish int the African Championship in Gabon.

The Starlets thrashed Cameroon 4-0 in their Group A opener on Sunday and the former Asante Kotoko coach is urging football fans to keep supporting the team. "We need more support both spiritually and physically in order to achieve our main aim of this competition. We believe with the support we can qualify for the World Cup and even win the tournament" he said after the game. The Black Starlets of Ghana will travel out of the country today for Gabon ahead of the African Junior Championship. The team headed by Coach Paa Kwesi Fabin will leave their Prampram base where they have been camping for the tournament which kicks - off next week. The young stars will be hoping to make amends after failing to represent in the last edition after they were disqualified for using an over aged player. Ghana has been housed in Group A along with, Cameroon, Guinea and the host nation Gabon. This year's tournament begins from May 14 - 28 with a lot of fireworks expected.
