Thirty players have been invited to the Black Princesses camp as they begin preparations for their 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches. The Princesses players who have been invited to camp are expected to report to the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence, Prampram on Monday 7th August, 2017 at 4pm. The national U-20 female team will commence their World Cup qualifying campaign against their Algerian counterparts in September this year. The 2018 FIFA U-20 World Cup will be staged in France from 7-26 August, 2018. Black Starlets captain Eric Ayiah has been called to the Black Stars 'B' as they intensify preparations for their upcoming CHAN qualifiers. Ayiah who recently led the national U-17 to place 2nd at African Championships, is expected to join the home based senior national team for their upcoming friendly game against their Togolese counterparts this weekend. The pacy forward who is preparing for the FIFA U 17 World Cup in October, will switch camp to the senior side on Friday in Prampram. Meanwhile WAFA defender Caleb Amankwaa has also been handed a late call up to the Black Stars B ahead of their trip to Togo. The Black Stars B will today play Premier League side Tema Youth in a friendly as they continue preparation towards the CHAN qualifiers and the upcoming WAFU competition. The match is scheduled for 9am at the Ghanaman Soccer of Excellence in Prampram. On Thursday. This game forms part of coach Kwesi Appiah’s plans of building a formidable home-based team while preparing for the African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers and WAFU tournament later this year. Players who have been in the team's camp since April are expected to take part in this friendly as well as some players who have been handed fresh call ups. The local Black Stars team in a friendly game on Wednesday afternoon defeated lower-division side Accra Lions FC 5-0. This game forms part of the team' preparations for the Championship of African Nations game against Burkina Faso. Richard Arthur scored twice before Nicholas Gyan, Joseph Painsil and Emmanuel Gyamfi added the remaining respectively to hand the Black Stars “B” the victory on the day. President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi officially opened the FIFA Pitch Maintenance course for groundsmen on Thursday July 28 at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram. The seminar is aimed at training groundsmen of the various national and club pitches on how to maintain the natural grass pitches to ensure its longevity. It's also to teach the groundsmen on the importance of good maintenance of football pitches and to maintain their quality.
