Former Hearts of Oak striker Mahatma Otoo has signed a two-year contract with Turkish second-tier side Balikesirspor. The former skipper of the Phobians Mahatma moved on a free transfer after completing his shot stint with Umraniyespor in 1. Lig. Last season he scored one goal in 16 appearances for the side he joined on a short-term deal. Mahatma Otoo has played for Tunisian side Esperance and Norwegian top-flight side Sogndal since leaving Hearts of Oak in 2010. The former Ghana Premier league player has also represented his country at Youth level and also played for the Senior National Black Stars in the past.
Black Stars new entrant Joseph Attamah is hopeful Ghana can qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
