The Black Starlets of Ghana are expected to jet out of Ghana to Abu Dhabi on Wednesday to prepare for the impending U-17 India World Cup tournament scheduled for India. Twenty Four players are expected to make the trip to the UAE from the current 28 players in camp. The team while on the tour will then be pruned down to 21 by coach Paa Kwesi Fabin after excessive assessment on the players. The young Ghanaians will engage in series of friendlies in the United Arab Emirates as they prepare for the biggest Youth football festival. Ghana were earlier scheduled for a tour in an European country but after a meeting with the Ministry had to settle for Abu Dhabi.

Ghana Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan scored to earn his side a point in the Saudi Arabian Gulf League on Saturday as they were held to a 2 - 2 draw game by Al-Sharjah at the Al-Rashid Stadium. Forward Gelmin Rivas opened the score for the visitors in the 9th minute of the game before Gyan snatched the equaliser for the Red Knights lads in the 66th minute of the game through a spot kick. Gelmin Rivas restored the lead for the visitors with his second goal of the day in the 80th minute but Makhete Diop scored three minutes after to end the game in a 2- 2 draw. The Ghanian skipper lasted the entire duration of the game but could not help his side to win.

Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan assuaged fears of missing next year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon after making an injury return to training at his club side Al Ahli.
