The 2017 Tertiary Football League kicks off on Saturday September 23 in Ghana’s two major cities – Accra and Kumasi. Expectation and enthusiasm have reached a crescendo with 12 tertiary institutions lacing their boots in a 10-week football league. The historic Premier tertiary football league is expected to be saturated with all the ingredients that make the most loved sports in Ghana thick. University of Ghana Sports Stadium to host 2018 AWC

Government has decided to complete the University of Ghana (UG) Sports stadium as one of the two venues for the 2018 Africa Women Championship. Funds have been allocated in the 2017 budget to ensure the edifice is spruce up to meet international standard. Consar Limited started the project, estimated at a cost of US$ 17 million, in 2003. The 12,000-seater multi-purpose stadium is said to be 80 percent complete. The facility has synthetic tartan track, water-proof pitch and the stands have been long completed with work on the changing rooms, offices, VIP lounge. It has ,specialized gadgets, digital and lighting systems and the erection of a ribbon score board system left undone due to issues with funds.
