Egypt President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi has given a bonus of $US85,000 to each of the players who clinched a place at the 2018 World Cup finals in Russia. A 2-1 win over Congo Brazzaville saw them qualify for the global showpiece for the first time since 1990. The president announced the reward on Monday as he met the Argentine coach Hector Cuper and the players. "Maybe we don't play beautiful football but we are at the World cup and that's the most important thing," Cuper said. Black Starlets of Ghana continue their journey in the 2017 World Cup in India as they face USA in the second Group A game in Delhi. The Ghanaians will be seeking to qualify for the next round of the competition with a victory after beating Colombia in their first game. Coach Paa Kwesi Fabin and his young men will wish they repeat the performance in the first game as they bid to progress to the next round of the World Cup competition. USA defeated the host nation India, by 3-0 in their first game and a win for them as well will send them to the next round of the competition making it a very difficult game. The Black Stars split points with Uganda in their FIFA  2018 World Cup qualifying match played in Kampala on Saturday. Coach Kwesi Appiah’s side needed a win to boost their chances of making it to next year's World Cup. The result leaves Ghana at third in the group behind Egypt and Uganda. The senior national team will play group leaders Egypt in their final qualifying match on November with the Black Stars having a very slim chance of qualifying ahead of the Pharoahs. Ghana has 6 points in the group while Egypt lead with 9 points while Uganda has 8. Congo are bottom of the table with one point.

The Black Stars have arrived in Uganda for their World Cup qualifying to be played on Saturday The male senior national team Black Stars ended their four (4) days training tour in Keny on Thursday and headed to Kampala. The team will have their official training session at the Uganda Namboole sports stadium Thursday. Head coach James Akwesi Appiah is leading a 21 man team to face the Ugandans in the second leg of the 2018 FIFA world cup qualifier. Newcastle United winger Christian Atsu will miss out of the game after suffering a knee injury. The Ghana Black Starlets began their 2017 U17 World Cup with a narrow win over Colombia in the first Group A game played in India. Ghana show their readiness for the game by dictating the pace of the game right from the blast of the whistle with attacking threats into the half of the South Americans. The Black Starlets performance finally yielded fruit when Sadiq Ibrahim latched on to an Eric Ayiah cross to put the African side in the lead. Back from recess, the Colombians came into the game stronger looking for the equaliser but the resolute defence of Ghana stood high to prevent a goal from their opponents. Ghana tops the group with 3 points from one game and will face USA in their second group game.

The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) are planning a big champagne party for the Super Eagles if they defeat the Chipolopolo of Zambia in Saturday’s FIFA World Cup qualifier, Completesportsnigeria.com reports. The NFF, according a top source who pleaded anonymity, revealed that a wine company was partnered who agreed to provide cartoons of wine for the players and the rest of the officials to  celebrate the Eagles victory.
