Uganda Cranes stun Egypt 2-1 to leave Group E open

Uganda has given their chances of qualifying for the 2018 World Cup more light after beating Egypt by a lone goal in Kampala.

Tanzanian based striker Emmanuel Okwi scored the only goal of the game in the 51th minute to hand the Cranes the need win.

Uganda has now moved to the Top of Group E after the home win which puts the group which also has Ghana and Congo open.

The Cranes are now leading the log with 7 points whiles Egypt follows with 6 with Ghana at third with just a point with Congo with no point.

The Black Stars play Congo in Kumasi on Friday before playing them in a return fixture in Brazzaville three days later.
