Ghana Champions Wa All Stars marked their debut CAF Champions League appearance with a 1-3 defeat at home to Ahli Tripoli at the Tamale Sports Stadium.
The Libyans side made their intentions of winning the game from the blast of the whistle getting the first chance of the game.
Muaid Ellafi put the visiters ahead in the 21st minute after dominating the game for a longer period.
All Stars created their first chance of the game with a good build up in the middle but the opportunity was wasted.
After raising their game in the last few minutes All Stars failed to level the score ending the first half by 0-1 in favour of the away side.
The second half saw Al Ahli Tripoli come into the game with much enthusiasm which was well paid after Mohammed Salto scored the second goal of the game to put his two goals up.
But striker Richard Arthur pulled one back three minutes later to breathe life into the home side.
All Stars failed to draw level after getting a goal and allowed Ahli Tripoli to add another goal through Muaid Ellafi to make it 1-3.
Wa based club will need a convincing win in the return leg in other to make it to the next round.
