WAFA beat Bolga All Stars to maintain top position

West African Football Academy maintained their top position on the league log with a 2-0 victory over Bolga All Stars in the Ghana Premier League game played at the Sogakope park.

Caleb Amankwah and Gideon Waja ensured WAFA ensure their position on top of the table is secured by scoring for the Academy boys in the week 12 encounter.

They now occupy the first position on the GPL table with 26 points followed closely by Aduana Stars with 25 points.

The Sogakope base side are now looking to end the first round unbeaten after going five clear games without a defeat.

Elsewhere in the league, Ebusua Dwarfs posted a 1-0 win over Berekum Chelsea at the Cape Coast stadium whiles Kotoko suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Wa All Stars in Tamale.

Accra Hearts of Oak stayed at the Accra Sports Stadium and played a 1-1 draw with Elmina Sharks, Aduana Stars beat Tema Youth by 2-0 to keep the chase on league leaders WAFA.

Newly appointed coach Charles Akunnor could not lead Ashgold to a victory in his first game as they lost 1-0 to Inter Alllies at the El Wak Stadium. In Dansoman, Coach Tom Strand after all the confusion surrounding his appointment led Accra Great Olympics to play out a barren draw game with Liberty Professionals.

On Saturday, Medeama Sc posted a 2-0 victory over Bechem United at the Tarkwa T & A Park.
