Burkina Faso and Guinea-Bissau have crashed out of the 2017 West African Football Union (WAFU) competition after defeats to Niger and Guinea respectively.
The two nations lost 2-1 each to their opponents on Sunday at the Cape Coast stadium in Ghana where the competition is taking place.
Boubacar Soumana gave Niger the lead in the 33rd minute but was canceled in the 59th minute by substitute Dan Sansan before Garba Iddrissa restored the lead for Niger to end the game in their favor.
In the second game at the same venue, Guinea edged out their neighbors Guinea Bissau with a 2-1 victory after 90 minutes.
Gilson Correia scored to put Bissau in the lead but his goal was cancelled by Keita Sekou in the 32nd minute with a penalty before Camara Abdoulaye added a second goal for Guinea Conakry to end the game 2-1 in their favor.
The competition continues tomorrow with Nigeria playing Sierra Leone and Mauritania against Mali.
