The Ghana Black Stars were held to a 1-1 draw at home in their 2018 World Cup Qualifier game against Congo on Friday afternoon.
Black Stars had high hopes coming into the game after the group became opened following Egypt’s defeat against Uganda in Kampala.
The game started well with the Ghanaians controlling the affairs of the game with passes in their half looking for the first goal.
Ghana taught they have gotten the opener but a Jordan Ayew’s free kick which resulted in a goal was flagged off side by the assistant referee.
A defensive blunder from Joseph Attamah Lawal handed the visitors the opener in the game in the 18th minute which the home side failed to equalised ending the first half in a 1-0 win in favor of Congo.
Back from recess, The Black Stars turn on the heat on the Congolese searching for the equaliser with a lot of missed opportunities.
Their effort finally yielded fruit when Thomas Partey leveled in the 85th after receiving a pass from Christian Atsu in the Congolese half.
The results now leaves Ghana with 2 points in Group E after three games.
