Ghana Black Satellites produced a sterling performance on Saturday afternoon to beat Benin by 3-1 in at the Cape Coast stadium.
Two goals from striker Richard Danso and Ishahaku Konda ensured Ghana come from behind to beat the Junior Squirrels at they seek qualification for next year’s African Youth Championship in Niger.
The Junior Squirrels showed they meant business when they opened the score in the 30th minute of the first half through Allagbani Saliou ending the first half in a 0-1 scoreline in favor of the travelers.
The young Ghanaians responded well in the second half mounting intense pressure on Benin all in search of the equaliser.
Ghana had to wait till the 60th minute before getting a goal after WAFA striker Richard Danso’s shot deflected into the net.
The Black Satellites kept asking goalscoring questions until Captain Ishahaku Konda bundled in a corner kick to hand Ghana the lead for the first time in the game in the 72nd minute.
Richard Danso scored his second goal after benefiting from a Videkon Aubin’s poor clearance to send the home side in a 3-1 lead..
Ghana will now have to wrap their qualification in Benin when they lock horns in the return encounter.
